Anatomical Portrait Sculpt
For this project in ZBrush, I chose to do an anatomically correct portrait, while trying to keep something foreign, or even alien in my character’s face. This was also and excellent exercise in adding fine features such as wrinkles and making them look natural. Sculpted in ZBrush, textured and rendered in Substance Painter.
Reference & Inspiration
Most of my inspiration came from looking at this work by Kurtis Dawe. I loved how this character’s face carried so much emotion and weight.
The Progress
I ended up ejoying the process a lot more than I initially anticipated. Before this project, I was drawn a lot more towards hard surface modelling and was reluctant to try my hand at something like this.
