Mamiya RB67

Though firearms are fascinating and seem like a must-have in every 3D portfolio, I chose to work on a similar asset in style and form: this awesome creative tool from the 70s. What weapons and professional camera equipment share is their super-utilitarian nature, which makes them so visually attractive to some people. Especially when signs of wear and scars are visible.

Though it would be hard to imagine a real RB67 with so much damage, I chose to add extra. Here my own experience of work with all kinds of picture and video equipment helped and I could realistically predict spots where such damage could occur.

Fortunately, these cameras are still in use by enthusiasts, which means many of them are put on sale from time to time. It was easy to find high-quality well lit and photographed reference material for a change.
